A Venue At The Grove Wedding
Cody and Sara met in their Sophomore year in high school, in Spanish class. Over the years they became great friends. They both went to Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff for school. Cody used to walk Sara home every week from a late-night class so she wouldn’t have to walk alone. As time went on they slowly drifted apart. But a few years later they reconnected during a night out. They were out dancing when Cody pulled Sara in and told her he should have kissed her back in high school. And they’ve been inseparable ever since.
On the day of the wedding, we arrived at Venue at the Grove, in Phoenix. The ceremony location is lined with huge trees, the reception spot is underneath twinkle lights and the sun sets behind a grove of pecan trees which created a stunning backdrop! Cody and Sara knew they wanted to share in a first look. We were able to get 60% of their portraits done along with their wedding party and family formals all before the ceremony, which left us with some gorgeous sunset portraits right after the ceremony!
One of my favorite things about their wedding was how they included Cody’s brother Wyatt. Being recently deployed overseas it was important for them to include him. As the family passed around an iPhone, Wyatt was able to be a part of the ceremony and cocktail hour! During the reception, guests dined under twinkle lights and danced the night away! Then they sent Sara and Cody off with a sparkler send-off. We even managed to do some sparkler art where I was able to spell their new last name out! Sara and Cody – thank you for being the most gracious and loving couple! It was truly an honor to serve you both and we can’t wait for what your future holds! xo
