A Stonebridge Manor Wedding

Derik and Traci met at work. He worked for the city of Mesa then and was her driver when she was in the city working. (Pretty fancy ) So there they were, driving around town and Derik formed a bromance with her male coworker, who was also in the vehicle. He barely spoke to Traci the entire ride. At the end of their ride, Derik and her coworker began exchanging numbers to keep in contact. Derik mentioned his area code, which was the same as hers, so she asked him why he had a small town area code and he told her he was from a small border town called Sierra Vista.

Turns out they both went to the same high school and were two years apart. Even odder, he was friends with her cousin who lived with her in high school, yet we never met. As Traci got out of his work vehicle she told him to “have a nice life.” Later that night he texted her a picture of her high school yearbook photo, and as she says, “He has been stalking me ever since!”

Their wedding day quickly arrived and we were super excited to be photographing it! Stonebridge Manor is a really neat venue. Unlike most wedding venues, it offers a few different locations for the ceremony spot. Traci and Derik got married in the backyard of the property in front of the trellis. After sharing a first look with her bridesmaids and her father, we quickly tucked Traci away and got ready for the ceremony. Guests were treated to pink flower petals, which they’d later use to toss at the end of the ceremony. With one of her closest friends tossing them as he came down the aisle, everyone’s faces lit up! Derik saw his bride for the first time as he watched her walk down the aisle. As he got emotional – so did I! Instead of tying a knot, or lighting a candle, they shared shots at the altar and sealed their vows with a kiss.

Since they had an engagement session before the wedding with us (you can see that here!) they already knew what to do and breezed right through all their pictures. The rest of the night was filled with toast, cake, and a ton of dancing! Traci and Derik – thank you for allowing us to be such a special part of your big day! We just love you, two!
