What Not To Forget On Your Wedding Day

Happy Wednesday, Friends!  I wanted to get back into the swing of blogging tips for my couples and thought what better way than to start off my “Wedding Wednesday” post with, what not to forget on your wedding day!  Let’s be honest, planning a wedding can be SUPER stressful, so my aim is to make it as enjoyable and stress-free on my side as possible.   By helping you remember what to bring, it not only takes the stress down a notch, but it also allows me to be more creative the day of.  I won’t be running around looking for everything – which saves both you and me time.

What not to forget on your wedding day!

Bouquets need to be delivered to YOU, not the venue.
If you can remember to have your bouquets delivered to where you are getting ready, you’ll be able to have detail shots with your flowers! I love shooting the rings on flowers but I have to have the bouquets close by in order to make that happen!  If they get delivered to the venue instead of where you’re getting ready, that’s ok,  I’ll try my best to get detail photos with the bouquets if we have some extra time later in the day.

Try on your shoes and dress BEFORE the big day.

This may sound stupid but I promise it’s not.  You want to make sure that your dress fits, and that you’re able to sit down in it.  I can’t tell you how many brides forget this part, and when it comes time for dinner, they can’t sit down.  They actually have to stand up to eat because the dress is so tight, they can’t breathe if they sit.  I promise your seamstress can make your dress look amazing on your body, but also allow you enough room that you can sit without turning blue 🙂  Don’t forget to wear your shoes before the big day as well.  Keep socks on your feet, so the soles don’t get stained and wear them around the house for a while so you can break them in.  No bride wants blisters on her feet on the big day!

Bring all 3 rings to where you’re getting ready.  Don’t pass them to the best man just yet!

When I start the day, I love starting with details – which includes your jewelry.  Oftentimes, the couple gives their bands to the best man, and we lost a lot of time trying to track him down before the ceremony.  I know a ton of websites say, give your bands to the best man, but if you want detail pictures with your wedding rings and bands in them, keep them with you.  After we finish the detail pictures, we can give them to the best man to hold.

High heel protectors.

These are worth the extra 10 bucks.  If you plan on taking any photos in the grass and you’re going to wear heels – invest in these!  You can get them on amazon or on here!  If you don’t have them, just know your heels will sink into the grass.  These can also make a great bridesmaid gift to your girls!  Another alternative would be a pair of flats!

Take time to enjoy the day!

This may sound like a no-brainer, but I promise you – the day will go by SO fast.  It’ll be over before you know it, so take a few minutes throughout the day to soak it all in.  You’ve planned this for months, be proud of yourself!  And don’t worry about small blemishes or imperfections.  A lot of these won’t show up in pictures, i.e. dirt on the bottom of your dress. Don’t get me wrong, I totally understand wanting to be perfect going down the aisle! However, if something does happen and you have a little imperfection, don’t stress!  It’s actually really common and happens at most weddings.  The beautiful thing is that unless you point it out, your guests won’t notice and it won’t show up in your pictures.  Just try to relax and enjoy the day!

I hope these help, and can’t wait to share more with you next Wednesday!
