Troon North Wedding

Melissa and Mason’s Troon North Wedding was stunning!  The lush green fairways, majestic saguaro cacti, and panoramic views of the iconic Pinnacle Peak created a truly magical setting that left their guests in awe.   Working with a great coordinator at Meant 2 Be Events, this wedding was fully decked out in candles and beautiful florals from Chasing Bliss Design.  This was a traditional Jewish wedding that consisted of a chuppa (it has four corners and a covered roof to symbolize the new home the bride and groom are building together) beautifully wrapped in white linen with white flowers hung from above and crystals hanging from the back.

Melissa and Mason had their aunt officiate the wedding.   Just prior to the ceremony they had a ketubah signing.  If you’re not familiar with Jewish customs,  the ketubah is a symbolic marriage contract that outlines the groom’s responsibilities to his bride. It dictates the conditions he will provide in the marriage, the bride’s protections and rights, and the framework should the couple choose to divorce. Ketubahs aren’t actually religious documents, but are part of Jewish civil law—so there’s no mention of God blessing the union. The ketubah is signed by the couple and two witnesses before the ceremony takes place, then is read to the guests during the ceremony.

After the ketubah signing, it was time for the ceremony.  Just wait until you see the cute little ring bearer 😍.  Once Melissa was walked down the aisle, both sets of parents stood under the chuppa with the couple and the Rabbi.  Their vows were etched on clear pieces of glass, which was really unique.  After the exchange of the rings and vows, they were wrapped in a prayer shawl together and the Rabbi read off the seven blessings. The blessings focus on joy, celebration, and the power of love. They begin with the blessing over a cup of wine, then progress to more grand and celebratory statements, ending with a blessing of joy, peace, companionship, and the opportunity for the bride and groom to rejoice together.  As the ceremony came to an end,  Mason had the honor of breaking of the glass.  It demonstrates that marriage holds sorrow as well as joy and is a representation of the commitment to stand by one another even in hard times.  Everyone yelled, “Mazel Tov!” and the two joined hands and walked back down the aisle together.

During the reception, Melissa had time for a quick gown change and was able to dance the night away with friends and family.  The DJ played the hora where guests danced in a circle.  Mason and Melissa were seated on chairs and lifted into the air while holding onto a cloth napkin.  You can tell by their facial expressions, they were having a blast.

I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites from their day! xo
