A Winter Desert Engagement
When I was a kid, I longed for a sibling. As many of you know I’m a “lonely only” when it comes to my family of three. I had imaginary friends, and as I grew older we had three of the sweetest dogs. I even raised bunnies! Oh and one bird. Can’t forget her 😉 So, when I met with Emily, we instantly clicked. An only child herself, we had a lot in common.
After Emily moved to Arizona from Michigan, she met Matt. She blew him off for a while, but after meeting in person the two instantly hit it off. Matt is super sweet and laid back. It was during their vacation to San Diego that Matt proposed. After sending pictures to Emily’s mom, and getting a little help from his own, Matt finally proposed 2 years after dating Emily!
Matt’s also been Emily’s rock this year. Emily was flying home as much as she could to be with her mom. After battling cancer for several months, Em’s Mom went home to be with the Lord. So even as I write this, my eyes swell up with tears because I know how special Emily is and how special our relationships are with our moms. She is and my only child heart just breaks for her. But when we were shooting their engagement session, you could see so much joy in her face. Matt truly brings out that happiness in her. I know her mom is smiling down on them.
