Kourtney has been a part of our family since she was born! So when she asked me to shoot her wedding at Dreams Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, you know I had to say yes! Mike and I were so excited to shoot their wedding, and we were also so excited to get to spend some time away from our kids (sorry kids!)!
Kourtney and Lukas grew up in the same small town together. They started talking at a party one night and really hit it off. After dating for five years, Lukas took Kourtney to Retzer Park in Wisconsin and asked her to marry him. Of course, she said yes!
Mike and I had spent some time in the Caribbean before, so we thought we knew what to expect for the weather – but BOY we were wrong! lol! The weather was beautiful – HUMID as can be, but absolutely beautiful. On the wedding day, we had a few sprinkles but mostly cloudy skies which made for quick thinking, posing, and moving! Kourtney and Lukas didn’t share a first look, so it was really sweet seeing him watch her walk down the aisle.
Destination Weddings are SO much fun. And so unique. I think my favorite part is being able to spend time with the families and the wedding party beforehand. It really makes shooting the wedding day, that less stressful and that much MORE intimate. I know Kourtney and Lukas really enjoyed spending the week in paradise with their best friends and family!
