Sedona Elopement

Michelle and Jakub met at Lifetime Fitness where Jakub worked as a rock climbing instructor.  Michelle’s best friend Kelly (who worked with him) introduced them.  Jakub taught her how to rock climb and after working up an appetite they went to Whole Foods to have gelato!

After being together for a few years, they went camping over the summer at Devils Lake in Wisconsin.  Jakub was swimming across the lake as practice for his triathlon (as he did every summer) while Michelle kayaked alongside him.  In the middle of the lake, Jakub dove down to the bottom and then came up with an engagement ring in his hand!  They love to share their life on social media, so to see the actual proposal you can click here!

While opting for a small intimate ceremony, Jakub and Michelle shared their vows along Cathedral Rock and the Oak Creek Canyon, in Sedona.   With Reverend Yana performing a spiritual ceremony, Jakub and Michelle were told to find two rocks that stood out to them.  After finding their rocks, they placed them on a table.  A little chalice held fresh water from the Oak Creek.  All three wedding rings were placed in the water as a blessing was preformed over them.  While being anointed with rose oil and giving gratitude towards Mother Nature and Spirit, Jakub and Michelle held their hand over each others heart.   After sharing their vows, Michelle’s dad, Mark, read a loving letter to the couple.  (There were no dry eyes at this point!)  After sealing their vows with a kiss, Michelle and Jakub returned the sacred water in the chalice back to a tree along the creek.  They were able to kept their special rocks to remind them of this special day.
