A Country Windmill Winery Barn Wedding
Kristy and Matthew met at the state fair in New Mexico. Kristy was visiting her best friend that weekend and they went to see Dwight Yoakam perform. When she first met Matthew she didn’t want to give him the time of day because she had just gotten out of an awful relationship. But as fate would have it, they ended up hanging around each other the entire time they were at the fair!
Their engagement story is nothing short of amazing. While Matthew and Kristy were in Lubbock Texas for a country music festival, Kristy was brought on stage! One of her favorite country music artists was performing and Matthew had managed to cut open a baseball, screw a clasp on it an propose! If that wasn’t amazing enough, the country artist even managed to sign the baseball for her!
After lots of planning and sadly losing her mother, Kristy and Matthew got married at The Windmill Winery. They chose a different location to get married at and it couldn’t have fit them better! With a picture of her mom in the front row and a sweet aisle runner dedicated to her mom, the two tied the knot in front of their closest friends and family. One of my favorite things about this wedding was that Kristy made the bouquets and boutonnieres for the entire wedding party. If you look close, you’ll see that her bouquet handle was an antler shed which held all the flowers, cotton and even gun casings. The boutonnieres were made from shotgun shells which she so delicately placed paper flowers. And what country wedding would be complete without a his and her wedding cake. Half camouflage, half traditional this wedding cake was adorned with little rocking chairs each holding a bow and arrow in front of a camp fire! The guests really loved it! The night was filled with TONS of country music (that I knew every word to 😆) and dancing! It definitely made me feel at home!
Enjoy a few of my favorites from their day! xo
