A Temecula Creek Inn Wedding
Kelsey and Matt met while both attending college for nursing. Kelsey’s best friend played volleyball at the same school Matt played baseball at. So when Kelsey mentioned the cute guy across the room, Alexis awkwardly called him over to introduce him to Kelsey.
After dating for a while they decided they needed a little getaway from all the stress of nursing school and headed to San Diego for a getaway. As they were sitting on the beach enjoying the ocean, Matt said to Kelsey, “I have something for you.” Then he handed her a photo album filled with pictures from over the last 6 years that they had been dating.
As Kelsey was flipping through the pages and reminiscing, Matt grabbed the engagement ring out of his bag. When she looked back at him he was down on one knee with the ring in hand!
After graduating nursing school, started new careers, and realized they weren’t happy in those careers, deciding to pick all their stuff up and move to California gave them a fresh start! We were blessed to photograph their engagement session a few months prior and you guys can see them all over our website! You can also check out the rest here!
We packed our VW with all our gear, 3 kids, and 3 dogs and headed out to Temecula. The weather had been raining all week so we made sure to pack clear umbrellas and keep an eye on the forecast.
We started our day off with the girls. Photographing the finishing touches and all the details (my favorite!) and then headed off to see the guys. Kelsey and Matt decided to share in a first look which gave them 60% more portraits than couples who don’t. And if you’re wondering if that affected the way Matt looked at Kelsey as she walked down the aisle, you’ll be happy to see below that he was just as excited to see her walk down the aisle as he was when he saw her during the first look!
This was our first time photographing a wedding at Temecula Creek Inn and boy were we in love! Unlike most venues they only allow you to get to the ceremony site by van shuttle. After we photographed the entire wedding party we headed down to the ceremony location and were just blown away. This little hidden gem was decorated with twinkle lights, hanging lanterns and candles. It gave off such a romantic feeling. With bonfires going around the ceremony location family and friends were greeted with fresh margaritas and blankets to keep warm! (Totally my kind of wedding!)
One of my favorite things they did during their ceremony was share a last kiss with their Mom’s. You see, as a mother brings her child into this world, she’s often times the very first person to kiss her child and this was the last kiss they’d share with Kelsey and Matt before they were pronounced husband and wife. It was the sweetest thing ever!
As the night went on, a little rain came and went, but everyone was having a blast inside the tent! Kelsey and Matt thank you for allowing us to capture your love story!
