Our Babies Fall 2016

It’s not too often I blog about our kids, but today I’m feeling totally emotional.  I think with wedding season in full swing, they know I’m super busy so any attention they can get from me they love.  So tonight, I took them out and gave them their own photoshoot and they ate it up!!

I remember when Brooke was a baby.  So chubby and bald.  She had the cutest dimples in her chin.  I was obsessed with her!  We spent our entire day together.  I’d leave for work at night and come home and she’d be there drooling and smiling, so proud she could roll over on her own and put her b (binky) in her mouth.  Now she’s 8.  Independent.  Rocking school.  She loves to sing and is obsessed with crafts.

Then we have Dean.  Also known as “Mr. Cromer”.  My cousin Kourtni gave him that name and it stuck.  His whole first year of pre-k that’s how he referred to himself!   Dean has always been a jokester.   When he was born he came out peeing on the doctor and he nailed the nurse twice!  This little guy has always had a smile on his face.  He’s been giving us a run for our money lately but I’m sure as he gets older he’ll be a little easier.  Maybe.  If he’s anything like his dad, I may be bald before I reach 40!  He’s always loved to snuggle, be on the go and doing something he shouldn’t be.  Typical boy.  Or so they say 🙂

And last, but certainly not least we have Emmalyn.  My feisty threenager.  This girl came out fighting.  She spent a couple of weeks in the NICU and I’ll never forget how the NICU nurse described her.  “Strong-willed and independent.”  She told us, “This little girl knows exactly what she wants and when she wants it.  And she will NOT give in until she gets it.”  And that is still the case.  Every day we watch Sofia the First on Disney Jr.  And every day she rides her bike in the house, chasing after her brother.  Screaming and singing loud for the world to hear.  Staying up late and coming up with every excuse in the world as why she doesn’t need to go to bed, and why it’s ok to wear her Sofia the First dress tomorrow…even though she’s worn it 3 days in a row 😉

I am SO very thankful for our kids.  For the laughter and screaming that fills our house.  For all the scratches, chalk and crayons on our walls.  The laundry piled high, and dishes falling out of the sink.  The days are going faster and faster.  That is why I am so grateful to be able to do what I love…be a mom and capture memories.

Enjoy a few favorites from our shoot in the desert tonight!  Like many of you, I can’t believe how much they’ve grown. <3
