Oh, you guys!  I can’t wait to show you this wedding!  I’ve known Cindy for a little over a year now and I am SO incredibly honored to have been able to photograph her wedding!  I got to know Cindy when we did Amy and Jordan’s wedding photography workshop last year.  You see, she’s a wedding photographer herself!  So when she asked if I’d shoot her wedding, not only did I feel like the pressure was on, but I was so excited!  Cindy is an amazing photographer based in Long Beach.  She’s also an amazing nurse and a fantastic mom.

Mike and I drove over to California with the kids and the dogs…if you want to see a circus act you should follow along on Instagram!  When we got to Hotel Maya for the rehearsal we FINALLY got to meet Bella and Shaun!  Along with some of their super fun wedding party!  If you’re ever in Long Beach, you need to go to Hotel Maya!  They have an incredible view of the Queen Mary, along with fantastic cocktails, amazing service, and a hidden Hookah bar!  It’s like this little hidden gem 🙂

The Wedding Day

The wedding day flew by!  First off, I can totally see why people live in Southern California.  The weather is to die for!  It totally beats our 122 Phoenix heat! We started the day off with details (my fav!) and bridal party pictures!  I personally think I have the BEST looking brides EVER!  But what’s even better, is their sweet, fun-loving personalities that they all seem to share!!  When it was time for the ceremony, Cindy mentioned her cute little – and I mean little – pom-ski – may be making an appearance!  And as Shaun’s best man Bob walked down the aisle, in his arms was this adorable puppy!

I always love watching families come together. During the ceremony, Shaun gave Bella a special bracelet and promised to be the best Dad ever.  I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye around!  After the Officiant announced the new Mr. and Mrs. Lucy, the two stopped at the end of the aisle and shared a kiss!  That’s definitely a new favorite of mine!  We hit a few spots around Hotel Maya for sunset portraits and then it was time to introduce the new married couple!  Bridal party speeches are always fun to listen to and Rhonda, Bob, and Lee all had great speeches.  And then came Bella.  For a 13-year-old girl, this was by far the most special speech we’ve heard.  Not only did she share how proud of Cindy she was, but she welcomed Shaun in as her new Dad, and again, I was a ball of tears!   As dinner and dancing took over the rest of the night, we were able to sneak out for one last picture!
